The angel of death has been abroad throughout the land; you may almost hear the beating of his wings. ~John Bright
Meet Exequian, Death's Avatar/Incarnation throughout much of my tales. Formerly one of the noble angelic race known as the Elohim, Exequian was once bloodkin to Aeselia, Zalthiel (I re-named him again from the previous 'Zalthia'), and Covenant (the angels pictured here: [link] ). But with the destruction of the second death in the wake of the Apocalypse (yes, Death can be eliminated), the Seven dieties chose Exequian to fill the empty seat through a personal Prohecy that cost the young Elohim his wings. Exequian is a neutral character at best, although he is constantly phasing in and out of the story to associate with protagonists and antagonists alike. He revels in his duties (predictably, he enjoys killing) but has a softer side to him that remains the last trace of his once-Elohim existence. Oh, and the Skylord ( [link] ) and Exequian are best friends. Their friendship goes back a long way, way before Exequian's appointment as Death's Avatar. (Kind of an ironic brotherhood of light and dark if you ask me. ^_~) P.S.~ Those dark, bony limbs on Exequian's back are actually the remnants of his wings sacrificed in the Prophecy... |
