Well, as you well know... the 11th day of the 11th month (november 11) is Remembrance Day in Canada. The same day is remembered as Veterans Day in the United States, and both countries take the time to venerate the fallen of wars in ages past... and honor those that survived.

Remembrance day is not a Canadian/US specific Holiday. I urge you this Remembrance Day to honor the memory of your country's soldiers... because without their sacrifices, you wouldn't be able to enjoy what freedom you have. As Terry kelly puts it in his song A Pittance of Time, "They fought, and some died, for their homeland. They fought, and some died, now it's our land...."

I am an Australian who's grandfather fought in WW2 and if it weren't for him and the thousands no millions of soldiers who fought this would be such a different place i have the freedom to be someone and that is down to all those men and women who fought for my country and the other allied countries Lest We Forget

Rememberance Day's actually a holiday that originated in the UK. The Queen lays poppies on the memorial in London, and all around the country there are memorials with wreaths of poppies laid at their feet.

I got to go to Flanders Fields when I was 16, and I don't think it's something I'll ever forget.
